Booking a session

One-on-one sessions take place online on Zoom and cost $100 USD for 60 minutes. Payment is required in advance. SAT and ACT preparation is individual tutoring with Matthew or Geni at the same rate. MDB also offers free 15-minute introductory meetings with Liza to discuss goals and fit. Paid tutoring is confirmed only after the payment provider verifies successful payment; free introductions are confirmed when the booking is completed. Selecting a time or starting checkout does not confirm a session. There is no subscription or automatic renewal.

Available sessions can be booked at least 24 hours ahead, within the next 30 days. MDB is based in Eastern Time (EST/EDT). Times are displayed in the time zone you select. The tutor portal publishes 60-minute tutoring slots and 15-minute introductory slots; weekly arrangements can be requested separately.

Changes, cancellations, and refunds

Email mdbtutoring.liza@gmail.com to cancel, request a new time, or discuss an issue with your session.

Cancellations and rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled session. Cancellations with at least 24 hours’ notice receive a full refund. Rescheduling is subject to tutor availability.

For cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full session fee applies unless an exception is approved.

Missed sessions

For a student’s first missed tutoring session without notice, we give a warning and waive the session fee. Any payment for that missed session will be refunded. After that, missed tutoring sessions require full payment.

Emergencies and extenuating circumstances

We understand that emergencies and extenuating circumstances happen. Exceptions may be made on an individual basis; please contact Liza as soon as you can.

Technical or other difficulties

If technical problems or other difficulties affect a session, we will review the situation and any refund individually.

If MDB cancels

If MDB cancels a session and a replacement time does not work for you, we will refund the session price. Refunds are processed through the original payment method; processing time depends on the payment provider and your bank. Liza handles refund and rescheduling requests directly.

Students and families

Booking and inquiry forms are intended for adults. If a student is under 18, a parent or guardian should complete the form and payment. Share relevant course topics and learning goals; avoid including sensitive health or financial information in free-text fields.

Tutoring supports learning and independent work. Tutors do not take tests or complete graded assignments on a student’s behalf. We do not promise a specific grade, score, or admissions outcome.

What information we collect

For inquiries, we collect your name, email, subject, interest, and message. For bookings, we also collect the student’s name, the contact’s name, session details, time zone, learning notes, and payment status. Team accounts include an approved email, role, and signed-in account identifier.

How information is used

We use this information to arrange and provide tutoring, respond to inquiries, manage sessions, and keep transaction records. Authorized managers can see bookings and inquiries. Tutors can see the bookings assigned to them. We do not sell your personal information or add you to a marketing list through these forms.

Payment card information is entered with Stripe and is not collected by MDB’s booking form. Zoom provides the online meeting service. This website uses hosting and database services to store inquiry and booking records, and Google sign-in for approved team accounts. These providers also process information under their own terms and privacy practices.

Confirmation and communications

After successful payment, the private booking page shows the session details, meeting link, and a calendar download. Keep the link private. Automatic reminder emails are not currently provided by this website. Contact us if you need help accessing your session.

Privacy requests

Email mdbtutoring.liza@gmail.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information. We retain records needed to provide services, handle disputes, and maintain required business records. We may need to verify a request before changing or disclosing records.
